goodbye 2007 hello 2008

The year 2007 had been a spectacular year for us especially in the BMX Scene in Singapore. To start out with there was the Best contest ever held here , MetrojamBMX Singapore. The first time ever 20 international riders from around the globe came to town for the contest.You could catch it on rushhd channel if you have MIOTV. You got a chance to meet close up and personal with your favourite riders such as Nyquist,Dave Mirra,Cory Bohan and much more. We invited Nyquist,Bibi,BrianHunt,ChrisDoyle down to sunsetrails the week after metrojam for some trails session.Those guys were cool and friendly.Best days we ever had at the trails.

In June , 3rd year running Dirt Jump contest was held, Sunsetjams 2007. We had riders from Malaysia,Botaxxx and Chengtoh taking part in the contest. We saw the best dirt contest riders heading head to head.In sunsetjams we also saw the 1st backflip turndown ever done in singapore and in contest , yes it was Chee Keong,CK hence winning the best trick contest for Sunsetjams 07.Thanks to 20incho,Scarybikes and all other guys who have helped us making the event successful.

August was the SST crew road trip to KL.Hit the spot.3 days with 3 different skateparks in KL.Mont Kiara,Shah Alam,Kampung batu.We did have some time for street session with the locals too. It was hell of a trip.

October ,Asian Indoor Games 07,Macau.Chee Keong made us proud winning 2 medals . Silver medal in BMX Freestyle Big Air and Bronze in BMX Park Best Trick contest. He pushed himself to the limit and unfortunately fractured his wrist in the contest. Keep up good work CK.Recover fast and soon we see you kicking some ass in 2008.

November ,BlackSondol 07 ,Sunplaza Park,Tampines.The first bmx/skate street contest.Due to the unexpected rain, many riders did not turn up for the event,it was postponed to sunday.Many of the east riders turn up.Well I have to thanks the crew,Nizam for buling the superbanks for the contest and the rest of SST crews for helping out with the "ramp building". Contest went smoothly,Scary riders,Shahridz took 1st place followed by Raihan and Ismail.

December was the busiest months.3 contest back to back.Ariff went to Bali for the Indonesia Open Extreme Championship.Same day in Sg there was Animal Asia Bike tour at Vivocity which Curly B won 1st place.Following week was Animal Asia Bike tour in KL.We headed up north to Sunway Lagoon.Fierce compeition from the Malaysia but nevertheless BamBam took 2nd place after Botaxxx.For the last contest of the year was Downtown East Xtreme Singapore.Well done to Scarybikes for running this year 2007 event.Congratulation to Luke,John,Danny for their outstanding performace in all of the curcuits they had compete.

It had been wonderful , unexpected , joyfull year of 2007. Look out for more contest,demos,videos in the year 2008.We SST crew wishes all of you a Happy 2008!!!
