What’s your name?

Ismail Rafiqiy aka “abang trailer”...haha I’m 19 years old and I’m in my 3rd year in Singapore Polytechnic.

How long have you been riding and what’s your 1st bike?

Probably for around 10 years, since primary 3? And it was a Haro tr 2.3..yeah

You have been know to be burly rider what do you think about that?

Hahahaha well its taxing on my body and its tearing up a lot of my jeans!

Whats the best thing about BMX that you liked most?

The feeling of nailing every trick while doing a line. Landing a trick I’ve been trying so hard to pull. Try something crazy. Going fast and airing shit making me feel I own that bitch and all the bullshit stuff we do with our friends.

Who has influenced you the most in bmx?

Well if it wasn’t for my brother, I wouldn’t be riding BMX now. My friends like Shah and Raihan whom I started riding with. Growing up and meeting other riders like Farhaan (curly b), Adrian, Danny. The oldskoolers like Nizam, Bam, Home and Wak.

What do you think about the bmx scene here in Singapore and what you expect in the future.

Well, with that East Coast Skatepark coming up I bet we would be seeing flairs and tailwhips here and there. I think the level of progression (haha) would increase so rapidly that’s its gonna get scary! hahaha but I must say theres so much politics in BMX nowadays…and the secret characters popping up everywhere, I’ve never seen so much riders in my life!

Tell us more about your bike setup?

I’m currently riding a Subrosa Pandora which has nice stickers and it’s a strong ass Taiwan made frame! My parts which mostly are second hand and ancient compared to the light shit nowadays like my Profile ss hubs and cranks, Odsy Dirt Fork and the Redneck Stem. My bike was built with “love” and it took years to become my current bike setup. Although I trash it around soo much its still fine as hell!
